Dr. Marcus Smith, assistant professor of history, has been essential in bringing the 2021 MAMEIS Annual Conference to Lindenwood. “I am the first scholar to join Lindenwood that specializes in the topic of Middle East and Islamic World, so the University hosting this conference is an opportunity to begin developing our institution’s presence in this field,” shared Smith. “Leading this partnership for Lindenwood will let other scholars of Middle East and Islamic Studies know that our university is advancing scholarship and teaching in this crucial area. In turn, this opens the door for future collaborations and recognizes Lindenwood’s commitment to academic diversity and excellence.”
